The University of Oslo (Universitetet I Oslo and Universitas Osloensis in Latin), founded in 1811, is Norway’s largest and oldest public university, located in the capital, Oslo.
The university is also one of Scandinavia’s leading universities.
Under the University of Oslo there are eight schools, including the Lutheran Theological School, the School of Law, the School of Medicine, the School of Humanities, the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the School of Dentistry, the School of Social Sciences and the School of Education.
The University of Oslo offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs in public administration, education, health management and health economics, classics, culture and opinion studies, art history, philosophy, and more.
Among them, the undergraduate major is mainly taught in Norwegian, and the medical and dental sciences do not admit international students.
The master’s program offers 46 majors taught in English.
The University of Oslo also offers summer courses for students from all over the world.
The University of Oslo is a public university and does not charge tuition fees for all students, but international students are required to provide a year’s worth of proof of living expenses at the time of application.
