Aix-marseille University was formed on January 1, 2012 by the merger of Aix-Marseille University I, University II and University III. One university focuses on literature, arts and humanities, the other on technical medicine and science and technology, and the third on economic management and law.
After the merger of the three schools, the sharing of teaching resources is realized, the teaching and management is more harmonious, and the international competitiveness and popularity are greatly enhanced.
Aix-marseille University has five campuses: Campus Aix-En-Provence, Campus Luminy, Campus Timone and Campus Etoile.
The University has 132 scientific research institutes, 14 of which are in cooperation with the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and other national institutions.
The University of Aix-Marseille is now the largest university and the largest French-language school in France, offering university diplomas in Science and Technology (IUT), bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctor’s, National Diploma in Medicine, National Diploma in Pharmacy, National Diploma in Dentistry, Diploma in Engineer, and courses in continuing education.
The specialties offered by the university involve natural science, economic management, space science, engineering science, medicine, pharmacy and many other fields.
